Unlike government run agencies, we provide round the clock access every day of the year. We know needs arise 24/7, and we offer 24/7 access and hands-on support to those we serve. Faith and Prayer are a large part of our day to day operation, because we understand the simple fact that without God nothing is possible. If you are looking for an agency that will not only walk with you, but support you through the ins and outs of foster care and adoption, we urge you to consider making Refuge House your home.

The house was massive for its time and is sometimes referred to as Jackson’s first “trophy home.” The large home served as an important meeting place for the community. The first elections in Jackson Hole were held in the house in 1898, as well as numerous civic meetings and social gatherings. When Robert and Grace Miller sold their ranch in 1914, the Miller House became the National Elk Refuge headquarters. The Miller House was closed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tomorrow, the House will vote on the “Superior National Forest Restoration Act” and the “WEST Act,” led by Rep. John Curtis (R-UT). All items that participants acquire are theirs to take when they leave the program. We pride ourselves in having an organized and clean space for our residents where they feel welcomed to pick-up necessities and “shop” for items. It is our goal for every resident who visits the Helping Hands House to have a positive experience where they are treated with dignity and respect.

Single filers can claim up to $421 or up to $841 for joint filers. Your donation will provide a safe home and wrap-around services in the House of Refuge community for a family experiencing homelessness. It reflects food and household items that we are in urgent need of to fill the food boxes for our residents. Many of our residents arrive with little or no personal belongings.
